The Pizzuti Companies have broken ground on Jaeger Square, the 261-unit multi-family development where Columbus’s most historic neighborhoods, Schumacher Place, German Village, and Merion Village connect.
Site clearing has begun, and crews will begin work on overhead and underground utilities in the coming weeks that will supply new infrastructure to the development.
The future of Jaeger Square will be an accessible, walkable, sustainable block, offering refined multi-family living at the meeting of these beloved and historic neighborhoods. Inspired architecture, curated public art, five floors of distinctive amenities and more will come together in this community. The property will be home to artwork made by established artists and emerging artists alike.
Providing flexible indoor/outdoor space, the development will support active street frontage, while building profiles and facades will invoke the highly textural and material effect of the urban corridor. Associative landscape will highlight a rich and lively street experience indicative of walkable, pedestrian-friendly urban environments marked by large areas of storefront glass with rhythmic masonry infill. The Kossuth Street garden, located midway through the block includes public seating and opportunities for neighbors to socialize.
Sidewalk café seating and retail entrances will be enhanced by brick-edged tree planters featuring trees and ornamental shrubs. The building will be set-back at the second-floor level, providing an additional green roof opportunity that creates a visual interest at-grade. Resident entries will feature colorful doors, awnings, gardens, iron railings, and window boxes.
Residents of Jaeger Square will enjoy an unrivaled finish and amenity package featuring studios, one-, and two-bedroom units with elevated finishes. Amenities will be unique to the neighborhood and include an onsite fitness facility with yoga studio, podcast studio, rooftop solarium, co-working space, artist studio, clubroom, and 15,000 square feet of outdoor amenity spaces.
Construction will be completed by Corna Kokosing Construction Co. and the project is expected to complete in 2024. Roth Real Estate Group will provide leasing services for the new development which includes 8,250 square feet of first floor retail, an ideal setting for sophisticated dining, commerce, and entertainment.
