The Pizzuti Companies has announced that denim retailer, FERA, has signed a lease at The Offices at The Sutton, the firm’s latest mixed-use development in the Short North Arts District of Columbus, Ohio.
The boutique’s first brick-and-mortar location will occupy 2,000 square feet along High Street on the ground floor. Derived from the word Indigofera, the plant that is used to dye denim giving it the indigo color, FERA was founded in 2019 by owner and operator, Jason Dowell. While the boutique is a new business, Dowell is not new to the denim world. With extensive knowledge of designer and handcrafted denim from around the world, Dowell chose The Sutton because of its premier location within the Short North.
“FERA represents brands that pay attention to sustainability and stick with ethical practices,” said Dowell. “We will be representing true artist and craftsmen from around the world.”
“Denim will be our forte, but we will also represent designer clothing, accessories, apothecary, and many other handmade products,” Dowell added. “Well-known hair stylist Jeremy Rike will also operate in the space, and will offer cuts and styles with a high focus on detail.”
FERA is expected to open in Q1 2020 and is joining retailer, Bonobos, and office tenant, Industrious at The Sutton.
The project includes 45,000 square feet of Class A office space and 12,000 square feet of retail space that runs along High Street and West First Avenue. Just 1,500 square feet of retail and 12,000 square feet of office space remains available.
