PIZZUTI LEADS APOPKA PROJECT PLANNING EFFORT

COLUMBUS, OH – Pizzuti Solutions has been retained by the City of Apopka to assist in defining the vision and redevelopment of the city’s downtown.

Pizzuti Solutions, with offices in nearby Orlando, will study approximately 32 blocks in the heart of Apopka for potential retail, office, residential and civic uses.

“This area is an important part of Apopka’s past and future,” said Tom Harmer, senior vice president of Pizzuti Solutions. “The study area encompasses civic facilities, historic sites and buildings, public and private parcels, and local businesses. Our goal in developing the concept master plan is to actively engage Apopka stakeholders in the planning process and develop a plan that is implementable and long-term sustainable.”

Pizzuti’s efforts include collecting and analyzing data relevant to the study area, working with city officials and residents to establish a vision for the downtown area, and creating a concept master plan, implementation plan and identifying catalyst sites for development. The public is invited to a workshop at 6 p.m. July 15 at the Apopka Community Center/VFW Post, 519 S. Central Ave. The purpose of the workshop is to identify important goals and objectives, review the site analysis, and discuss potential plan elements and alternatives with local residents and business representatives.

The downtown Apopka master plan will be based on current and projected market conditions and opportunities for the area.

The project manager is Pizzuti Solutions’ Christopher Wrenn. The planning team includes VHB Miller Sellen, Bellomo-Herbert, McCree General Contractors and Architects, and Stillwater Technologies, Inc. Additional project team members include HDR, Real Estate Research Consultants, Inc., Walker Parking Consultants and Crossman & Co.
