Plans have been announced for a new 300-room Starwood-flagged Luxury Collection hotel in Nashville’s SoBro neighborhood. The Joseph Nashville, which will be The Pizzuti Companies’ second Starwood-flagged hotel, is proposed be built on 0.75 acres at Korean Veterans Boulevard and Fourth Avenue South.
Over the past year and a half, Pizzuti has been actively pursuing the purchase of the site at Fourth and KVB from the Nashville Symphony. “We’ve had our eye on Nashville for some time,” said Joel S. Pizzuti, a Vanderbilt graduate and president of The Pizzuti Companies. “We are thrilled to have the opportunity to partner with the Nashville Symphony and develop a luxury hotel in one of Nashville’s most vibrant and exciting neighborhoods.”
The Joseph Nashville will be Pizzuti’s second Starwood hotel. Earlier this year, Pizzuti opened Le Meridian Columbus, The Joseph, in the Short North Arts District in downtown Columbus. Similar to the Ohio arts program at The Joseph in Columbus, The Joseph Nashville will showcase the work of Tennessee visual and performing artists.
Pizzuti’s Nashville mixed-use project includes the full-service, luxury hotel with a strong focus on contemporary design, art, music and cuisine. The hotel will feature approximately 300 guest rooms, banquet and meeting facilities, restaurant, bar, rooftop spa, swimming pool, and a structured parking garage that includes 180 spaces for the exclusive use of the Nashville Symphony. Construction is expected to begin in the summer of 2016; a 2018 opening is anticipated.
Pizzuti’s Nashville hotel project team includes Arquitectonica; Elness Swenson Graham Architects; EDGE Planning, Landscape Architecture & Urban Design; and Brasfield & Gorrie.
