Pizzuti Selected To Lead Olive Branch, Mississippi Development Effort

The Pizzuti Companies has been selected to serve as development adviser for a proposed large-scale industrial park development in Olive Branch, Miss.

Blue Ocean Ventures LLC of Boca Raton, Fla., has engaged Pizzuti to develop the master plan for the Park, initiate development due diligence, and begin marketing efforts for the proposed 256.45-acre Willow Creek Park of Commerce.

As development adviser, Pizzuti will conduct a detailed site evaluation and develop an initial concept plan for the proposed development. Pizzuti will also work to advance entitlements to the site and develop preliminary project cost estimates. The project will be managed by The Pizzuti Companies’ southeast regional office in Orlando, Fla.

During the six-month due diligence period, Pizzuti and Blue Ocean Ventures will finalize negotiations of a joint venture agreement that would designate Pizzuti as the Master Developer of the project.

David Meek, principal of Blue Ocean Ventures, said the timing was right to bring in an experienced partner to help guide the development plan for the property.

“We took our time looking for the right team to advance our project,” Meek said. “We look forward to working with Pizzuti, the City of Olive Branch, and Desoto County as we continue to move forward with our plans.”

Pizzuti Senior Vice President Tom Harmer said thorough due diligence is critically important in the early stages of project planning.

“Our work over the next six months will allow us to determine the best course of action for this development site,” Harmer said. “Olive Branch is an attractive area with an active industrial base and we look forward to creating a market-based plan that will benefit the community for years to come.”
